As a warning, a battery tester or voltmeter should never be applied to these capacitors, since it can affect their ability to hold a charge.
The first instruction is to open the caseback of the watch before any further work.
Record where the capacitor sits, then take out the used capacitor while noting the position of its electrical contacts.
Fit the new capacitor using the same orientation as the one that was removed.
Check that the caseback gasket is correctly seated and lubricated, then refit the caseback.
With Kinetic models, turn the rotor roughly 400 times, or wear the watch until its second or charge-indicating hand stops double skipping and it runs normally.
For Eco-Drive or solar models, leave the watch in strong sunlight, or wear it in sunlight, until the second or charge-indicating hand no longer double skips and the watch operates normally.
Should the watch still not run correctly, recheck the capacitor fitting, the charging method and the charging duration, or take it to a watchmaker for movement inspection.
